چگونه انتهای -ed را تلفظ کنیم: /t/، /d/ یا /ɪd/
"Worked" یک هجا دارد، "wanted" دو هجا دارد. سه قانون ساده برای انتهای زمان گذشته که اکثر زبانآموزان اشتباه میکنند.
Translated from English · Read the original
Learners often pronounce every -ed ending as a full extra syllable: "work-ed", "play-ed", "jump-ed". Native speakers almost never do. In fact, most -ed endings add no syllable at all.
There are three ways to say -ed, and the rule depends only on the last sound of the verb.
قانون ۱ — /ɪd/: after /t/ or /d/
When the verb already ends in a /t/ or /d/ sound, you need an extra syllable, otherwise you could not hear the ending:
- want → wanted
/ɪd/ - need → needed
/ɪd/ - decide → decided
/ɪd/
This is the only case where -ed is a separate syllable.
قانون ۲ — /t/: after voiceless sounds
After a voiceless sound (/p/, /k/, /s/, /ʃ/, /tʃ/, /f/, /θ/) the ending is a short, quiet /t/:
- work → worked
/wɜːkt/ - stop → stopped
/stɒpt/ - watch → watched
/wɒtʃt/ - laugh → laughed
/lɑːft/
قانون ۳ — /d/: after everything else
After vowels and voiced sounds the ending is a soft /d/:
- play → played
/pleɪd/ - live → lived
/lɪvd/ - call → called
/kɔːld/
چک سریع: دست خود را روی گلویتان بگذارید و آخرین صدای فعل را بگویید. لرزش → /d/. بدون لرزش → /t/. اگر قبلاً /t/ یا /d/ باشد → /ɪd/.
تمرین با یک داستان کوتاه
I walked home, opened the door, and wanted to sleep. Then I remembered I needed to cook. I washed some rice and called my friend.
هنگام خواندن تعداد هجاها را بشمارید. Walked و washed هر کدام یک هجا دارند؛ فقط wanted و needed هجا اضافه میشوند.
HolosAccent صامتهای انتهایی هر کلمه را ارزیابی میکند، بنابراین حذف یا اضافه شدن -ed بلافاصله قابل مشاهده است — جزئی کوچک که انگلیسیتان را بسیار مطمئنتر میکند.
